66 WEST THANKS CITY OF EDINA: This Tuesday, the Edina City Council formalized the creation of a TIF District that will create $550,000 in support of building 66 West. This bold statement was a follow up from a pledge from the City from last year, and we are grateful for the City of Edina’s belief in affordable housing! Questions? Contact the Chair of ECLC’s Housing Task Force, Chris Haugen.
LAUREN PREPARES FOR SABBATICAL: ECLC Friends, thank you for the opportunity to rest, restore, and re-educate through a sabbatical this May and June! While many rostered leaders are granted one three month sabbatical, I am grateful for the chance to have taken three weeks last summer, and will complete the remaining two months of my sabbatical from May-June. I will begin my time at a retreat discussing what it means to a prophetic witness for justice with other Twin Cities leaders, then will travel to New York for a conference on creativity in ministry and I hope to return with new ideas for all of us! I look forward to reading a lot, so if your faith has been inspired by a book lately, I’d love your suggestions! I’m excited to visit Twin Cities congregations and gain new ideas for ministry for all of us and excited to simply sit and rest, well, as much as a parent of an almost 4 year old can! I look forward to what this time for learning and restoring may bring for me, but also for our ministry together. I am currently preparing some of our ministry programs for my absence; if you have questions, don’t hesitate to call or email me! Lauren Morse-Wendt
