OLAF COLLEGE GENERAL COUNSEL-- September 12 Last spring, Carl Crosby Lehmann, St. Olaf General Counsel, met with a group of St. Olaf alumni, parents, and friends at ECLC to discuss the troubling events of the past school year and to share expectations for the newly formed racial justice task force at St. Olaf. RENEWAL SUNDAY IS SEPTEMBER 10 Be inspired by our youth who will share their summer experiences in El Salvador, Urban VBS, and the Augsburg Youth Theology Institute. Sunday school children will have a Blessing of the Backpacks in worship and an Open House Scavenger Hunt between services. Sunday School for all ages begins September 17th.

HOW TO TALK ABOUT RACE & RACISM WITH YOUR KIDS Calling all parents, teachers, grandparents, and caregivers for kids! Come to a free introductory workshop on Wednesday, September 20th, 7:00-8:00 p.m. to learn: five things you should know about racism, what will be covered in a 5-week series starting in October, research about children and race, and the barriers white people face when talking about race. Childcare provided. Facilitated by parent educator Denise Konen, the five- week series will begin October 25. Fee is $75-100 sliding fee per person (scholarships available).Sign up at ECLC.
BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING? ECLC will again partner with Lutheran Social Services providing clothing for under-resourced neighbors this fall. New children’s underwear and socks are needed—pick some up while you’re shopping! Families, save clothes your kids have outgrown for a donations’ drive later in September.
