ADVENT ALTERNATIVE GIVING THIS SUNDAY:   Share gifts with our community and the world through alternative giving this Advent! This Sunday after worship, purchase salsa from our friends at St. Paul’s Lutheran to benefit their youth group or knitted items for ECLC’s Hands to Hands Knitters, with proceeds going to Southside Family Nurturing Center.

SUNDAY FORUM   Join us on Sunday, December 11th at 9:45 am. We will hear from those who have been to Standing Rock and can speak from firsthand experience, including ECLC members Mary and Allison Breen.  Please join the conversation as we seek justice for all of God’s Creation.

INTERFAITH VIGIL ON ANNIVERSARY OF SANDY HOOK:  Join ECLC and people of faith from across the metro for No More Moments of Silence, where we will pray for an end to gun violence and remember its vict hosted by Zion Temple in St. Paul on Wednesday, December 14th from 7:30-8:30pm.  Lutheran Pastor, the Rev. Rolf Olson will also share insights gained in the nine years since has daughter Katherine was shot to death.  Both Pastor Erik and Lauren Morse-Wendt plan to attend; to join us, RSVP to Lauren at lmorsewendt@eclc.org

FOOD SHELF NEEDS VOLUNTEERS: Join ECLCers on Thursday, December 15th from 9-10:30am at Community Emergency Service (1900 11th Ave S., Mpls) to pack food bags for homebound clients.  Email ECLCer Lois Voss to sign up.

THE WOMEN’S SHORT STORY GROUP will meet at Marilyn David’s home on December 16th at 10:00 a.m., for our annual Christmas Brunch.  All women are welcome to join us in sharing treats, stories, poems, and joys of the season.   Please rsvp to Marilyn.

LA NATIVIDAD HOSTS NEEDED:  Experience the bilingual Christmas tradition, La Natividad, a collaboration production of the Christmas story between St. Paul’s Lutheran and Heart of the Beast Theater.  ECLC is hosting the meal following the performance on Sunday, December 18th. 8 volunteers are needed from 7:45-9:00pm to serve and clean up the meal at St. Paul’s—you get to see the performance, too! Email Lauren at lmorsewendt@eclc.org to volunteer and see this incredible retelling of the story!   

SORT TOY DONATIONS FOR VEAP:  Sort remaining donations after VEAP’s Social Services’ big Christmas “store” providing gifts for over 1,000 children.  On Wednesday, December 28th from 9am-Noon, meet at VEAP in Bloomington to sort!  To sign up, email ECLCer Rachel Kremer

SEND ECLC YOUR CHRISTMAS CARD!  Sending a Christmas card this year? Send one to ECLC! We’ll display them on a bulletin board together—a fun way to celebrate this season and share your greetings with the whole congregation!

Join the 112 ECLC households who have already pledged as together we proclaim God’s YES to the world. Complete a Commitment Card and place it in the offering plate, or mail it to the church office.
