ECLC Kids & Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service

It's official! ECLC Kids voted last Sunday to give their weekly offerings between now and Refugee Sunday, to purchase a Children's Room Kit through Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS). Help us help a child feel at home, with the shared goal of collecting $250 or more to buy:

  • Mattress & Box Spring $75
  • Lamp & Light Bulb $10
  • Dresser $35
  • Bedding (Blanket, sheet set & pillow) $30
  • Prayer Pillow Cases to remind ECLC kids to pray for our immigrant and refugee brothers and sisters $50

In the coming weeks, look for a new display, and new opportunities for learning together with ECLC kids.

Kid Stuff Giveaway & The Great Recycling!

Kids will think this is the best thing since Christmas - exchanging outgrown clothes, aged out books, and toys that no longer get played with, with "new" sought after treasures. January is a wonderful time to declutter and teach our kids how to let go of "stuff." Bring these items to ECLC this Sunday, Jan 25 by 9:45 am. Then, from 10-11, you are invited to walk through and pick up FREE clothes, books, and toys!

Be In the Know: Annual Meeting with Lunch and Childcare

Curious what's happening with ECLC's building plans? Interested in the progress being made on our housing initiative -- 66 West? Staffing for kids and youth? Mission commitments for the new year? The bottom line for 2014? Budgeting for 2015? Together we are the church, so let's gather this coming Sunday as a community, for lunch and the most informative meeting of the year. All voting members (high school on up) should attend. Childcare will be provided.

Faithfully yours,
Kelly Rowley

Would you like to build bridges of peace with the Interfaith Youth Leadership Coalition and hundreds of youth of many different religious and cultural backgrounds from across the Twin Cities for the annual Interfaith Youth Day of Service (IYDS). This event for 7th-12th students takes place on Monday, February 16, 2015 (Presidents Day), from 9 am - 4 pm. There is no cost to attend. IYDS is an opportunity for us to deepen our connection to our own tradition's teachings on service and justice, to learn about the teachings of other traditions, and to inspire inter-religious respect through workshops and service projects. Transportation to and from service sites and lunch is provided. We can register online as individuals, or attend as a group. Contact Kelly for more information, or to express interest!
