Where's Flat Jesus?

Summer is a wonderful time for all ages to explore what it means that God is always with us. To be Christ's church in the world: wherever we are, whoever we're with, and in whatever we do. This summer we're physically mapping the adventures of Flat Jesus on the wall outside the main sanctuary doors. We're also curating a list of event, activity, and location ideas for the congregation that we'll add to throughout the summer. Check this newsletter each week during the summer for Flat Jesus sitings with photos, and updates for the coming week!

Story Song & Snack

Story Song & Snack for preschool and elementary-aged children begins June 7th between worship services, from 9:45-10:10 am. Volunteers of all ages - new readers and experienced story teller and musicians alike - are needed to read a favorite story, lead a song, and/or provide a healthy snack. Come, have fun with us on Sunday mornings, shaping and forming faith, in community with one another. Volunteer at the sign-up center today. Read your newsletter each week to see where help is needed, and for storytelling and music ideas!

Justice Arts Ministry (JAM)

Engage creatively to be a witness to God's YES for the world, with recycled cardboard housing, mosaics, stop motion, Legos, chalk, and paint. Join us at ECLC on Sunday mornings between services (9:30-10:10 am), and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran (2742 15th Ave S, Minneapolis). Come every week or drop in. Gather as a family, with your peers, and across generations (all ages are welcome, but children younger than fourth grade need will need an adult companion). Beginning June 21, check your newsletter for each week's activities to be sure you're dressed appropriately, and for exact locations and times.

Children Youth & Family (CYF) Ministry

Youth and adults are invited to participate in ECLC's Children Youth & Family Ministry Summit on Wednesday, June 17, from 7-9 pm. Please join Pastor Stephanie, Gretchen Lieving, JD Mechelke, and myself, as we innovate and create a collaborative vision for CYF ministry at ECLC. We will converse about where we've been, where we are, and where we want to be. Come as you are and bring your hopes and dreams. Your voice matters.

High School Breakfast Club

Fannie Lou Hamer, Sam Bowers, Jr., William Douglas Hudgins, Rev. Edwin King, and Cleveland Sellers were all Christians during the revolutionary summer of 1964 during the Civil Rights Movement. But some responded with white hoods, and others with peaceful protest. How do we know when we are doing God's will? How do we know if we are following our God-given call? Explore these questions and more at ECLC's Breakfast Club on select Sundays from 11:30 am-1 pm. Chipotle burrito and chips provided.

There's nothing ordinary about it. Summer is a time for taking risks, doing things differently, ministry that gives witness to God's YES beyond church walls. Join us as we gather each week in worship, fed and forgiven, sent out into the community, discovering new ways of being Christ's church in the world...

In God's amazing grace!
