SUNDAY FORUM- FEBRUARY 17: The modern concept of mindfulness is an invitation back to the ancient practice of meditation. Come and learn about the practice of meditation from our guest speaker, Daishin Rehorst a priest-in-training at Minnesota Zen Meditation Center in Minneapolis and enjoy an opportunity for interfaith dialogue as well. The discussion starts at 9:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary on February 17th.

Bring a deck of cards, too, whether you love go fish, UNO, euchre, or others. February 23 from 5-7:30pm. Please RSVP to Lauren so we can prepare enough tamales. Free childcare provided for ages 0-4 in the nursery with your RSVP.
FACTS FROM LUTHERAN IMMIGRATION & REFUGEE SERVICE: LIRS is one of ECLC's mission partners. Founded in 1939, LIRS is one of the largest refugee settlement agencies in the US. LIRS actively works with partners, offering support to asylum seekers and immigrants as they are released from detention. We will be sharing some important facts about LIRS. Did you know LIRS resettled 3,655 refugees across 22 states in more than 30 cities in the past year? Got questions? Contact ECLC Mission Partner Liaison Bill D.
DID YOU KNOW? Did you know that Meals on Wheels can serve a senior for an entire year for the same cost as one day in the hospital or 10 days in a nursing home? Or that among seniors, the healthcare costs associated with isolation are equal to the same costs associated with having high blood pressure? Right here in Edina, Meals on Wheels currently serves 51 residents every week day, delivering a healthy meal right to their door. ECLC volunteers deliver meals every first Friday of the month - from start to finish, it takes about 1.5 hours and is an easy way to make a real difference in someone's day. Contact Sarah I. to be added to the ECLC volunteer list and check the sign up center for more info.
