COME ONE, COME ALL! Join PROTECT MINNESOTA and our allies on February 22 as we welcome law makers back to the Capitol and let them know that the people of Minnesota won’t accept any weakening of state gun laws.  Help us send the message—loud and clear–that we stand against Stand Your Ground and won’t permit Permitless Carry!  Legislators visits 10 AM to 1 PM and rally in the rotunda 2 PM to 3 PM.  For more information and to register: https://protectmn.org/event/welcome-back-to-the-capitol-rally-in-the-rotunda/.  Wear orange!!!

SOLIDARITY WORSHIP WITH ST PAUL’S:  On February 25th at 11am, join ECLCers at our sister congregation, St. Paul’s Lutheran (2742 15th Ave S., Mpls) as we worship in solidarity with at their bilingual worship.  In a different season for immigrants in our community, just showing up and being present makes a huge difference. Stay after for a potluck lunch and get to know some St. Paul’s folks!  No RSVP needed; just show up. 

RACIAL EQUITY AND HOUSING: Join Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative on Tuesday, February 27th from 6-8:30pm for a deep dive Unpacking Race & Housing, where participants dig into the policies and practices that drive racial disparities in housing. Hosted by Living Spirit United Methodist (4501 Bloomington Ave S., Minneapolis).  RSVP by emailing Lauren.

WANT TO KNOW HOW ECLC IS ENGAGING IN RACIAL JUSTICE?  We have three groups of people who are passionate about Action & Advocacy, Education, & Institutional Change. Everyone is welcome as these groups gather regularly to challenge the systems of oppression in our own spaces and work to make ECLC a welcoming place for all. Racial Justice communicates via a phone app/web platform called Slack. Please email Geoff K. if you’d like to be added to the groups.

FEBRUARY IS SHOWER POWER TIME! Please bring your sample size/ hotel size shampoo, lotion, deodorant body wash, soap for distribution by area shelters. Place in bins under Volunteer Sign up Center.

JONATHAN RUNDMAN PLUS FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN CONCERT AT ECLC! All are welcome on Saturday, February 10th at 7pm. $10 per person / $20 per family suggested donation at the door. National touring songwriter Jonathan Rundman performs a concert for the first time in his own home town of Edina! Backed by his family and an all-star band of ECLC musicians, Jonathan will feature a variety of songs and sounds from across his 25-year career.

WOMEN’S SHORT STORY GROUP: Short Story will gather on February 16th at 10 am at the home of Nancy P.  We’ll be discussing ‘Exiles’ by Garrison Keillor from Volume 1 of Listening for God. All are welcome! Please RSVP to Nancy.

PASTOR JEFF INSTALLATION  Pastor Jeff Sartain will be installed as co-pastor of ECLC on Saturday afternoon, February 24th at 2 pm. Bishop Ann Svennungsen will be here, as well as guest preacher, Rev. Laurie Natwick, Assistant to the Bishop, Northwestern Minnesota Synod. Guest musicians Linda Breitag and Ray Makeever will join our own Paul and Melissa.
