Email Lauren at firstname.lastname@example.org to be trained and join the roster.
WIT: WOMEN IN TRANSITION— all women welcome! WIT will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, in Robbyn Shiell's home. Jane Lepisto will lead the discussion of Nancy Kraft's book “Threads”.
SUNDAY FORUMS: Pastor Erik Strand explores Atul Gawande’s book “Being Mortal: Medicine & What Matters in the End” on January 31 during the Education hour 9:45-10:45 am. On February 7, join our returning guest, Dr. Arnoldo Curiel, Vice President for Racial Justice and Public Policy at the YWCA, for a forum on race, oppression, and how we can actively engage in racial justice.
THE ECLC RACIAL JUSTICE GROUP has been meeting for the past several months, and this past week, we created the following statement to express our commitment to racial justice:
“Racial injustice continues to thrive in our country and communities. Our Christian response is to walk in solidarity with people of color, because standing silent sanctions continued violence. Recognizing that we are intertwined in a network of unearned privilege, we are compelled to be allies advocating for racial justice. We invite other congregations to join together in expressing their commitments to live out our shared faith—active in love—in the struggle for equality and justice.”
We plan to engage in conversation about this statement at the Annual meeting and invite your participation.
DIVERSITY THROUGH INCLUSIVITY RIC WORSHIP: Join Reconciling in Christ congregations for a festival worship on Saturday, January 30 at 4:30pm at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4150 Dupont Ave N. in Minneapolis.
