MINNEHAHA CREEK 22-MILE NIBI WALK Sharon Day, Anishinaabe Medicine Woman will lead a Nibi Walk of Minnehaha Creek on Saturday, July 30. “Nibi” is the Ojibwe word for “water.” Nibi Walks (nibiwalk.org), are a way that Anishinaabe Grandmothers honor the earth, unite with others, and walk towards love and a better future for our grandchildren. The walk begins at Lake Minnetonka, the source of Minnehaha Creek. The Grandmothers will collect water and carry that water the length of the creek to Minnehaha Regional Park, where the creek feeds into the Mississippi. Every step in between is prayer-gratitude, healing, and calling humanity to action. The Anishinaabe Grandmothers invite your participation. This event is free. Walkers are welcomed to join the walk at any point. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
