Meet at Peace United Methodist (6335 Xerxes Ave S) to pick up meals and receive a map, meet grateful neighbors, then return the supplies. Great for adults volunteering with children! COMMUNITY PUPPET SHOW PARTY AT ECLC: ECLC is hosting Open Eye Figure Theater for a community puppet show on Wednesday, August 9th at 7pm. Come for treats, simple summer games, and the show (Tucker’s Robot, with an anti-bullying theme) from 7-7:30pm! We’ll pass the hat to support this Driveway Theater—invite your friends and neighbors for this community event!
RSVP FOR 66 WEST COMMUNITY GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION: 66 West opened in May and residents are getting settled. Join ECLC, Beacon, and supporters from across the metro for a Grand Opening Celebration and Open House between 5-8pm on Thursday, August 3rd. A brief program with speakers, including a 66 West resident, will be from 5:30-6:00pm, followed by 66 West tours between 6-8pm. An RSVP is required to get important event-day details and parking information. Carpooling and public transportation are strongly encouraged as parking options are limited. COME TOGETHER SERVICE AND PEACE PRAYER WALK on Sunday, August 13. Ecumenical Service at 4:30pm with the Prayer Walk at 5:30pm at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Community, 4537 3rd Ave S., Minneapolis. The service will focus on ending the violence that hurts and divides us. COME TOGETHER is a coalition of churches, faith-based organizations and people of good faith committed to monthly prayer services and walks begun after the death of Philando Castile.
