"BELIEVE IN HOME" PROJECT BEGINS SUNDAY
ECLC Kids & Youth first summer JAM (Justice Arts Ministry) project is in support of 66 West Apartments, housing for southwest suburban homeless youth and young adults. We’ll be exploring our responses to the question, “What is home?” and learning more about ECLC's work with BEACON Interfaith Housing Collaborative. Please dress for painting, building, and learning fun, and join us in Room 109 between 9:15 -10:00 am as we begin preparations to share the 66 West story through the creation of our own one-of-a-kind model housing using cardboard boxes, tempera paint, donated textiles and magazines (if you have fabric scraps or magazines to share, please leave them in the appropriately marked bin at the sign-up center), and other building supplies. ECLC’s Kids Believe In Home project will be shared with the congregation, and on display at a private thank you event for Beacon officials at the end of July. Contact Kelly with questions, or just show up!

JOIN ECLC QUILTERS  Summer is here but the ECLC quilters keep at the task of making quilts for Lutheran World Relief and local refugee organizations. Are you looking for a way to be active in an ECLC mission this summer? Join the quilters for a brown bag lunch at noon followed by layering and tying of quilts starting at 1:00 pm on these Fridays: July 10, July 24, August 7 and August 21. No previous quilting experience is required.

STOP BY THE LUTHERAN BOOTH AT PRIDE!  Happy PRIDE, ECLC!  ECLCers will volunteer at the Reconciling in Christ Booth from Noon-2pm this Saturday and Sunday showing welcome for persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Going to the festival in Loring Park? Stop by the “Purple Booths” and look for the Lutheran Booth there!

ECLC GARDEN PARTY! Enjoy a summer afternoon visiting gardens of ECLC members and getting to know each other! This casual, social gathering will begin after the 10:15 worship on Sunday, July 12th. Enjoy a light lunch at church then travel to 3 ECLCers’ homes to see some beautiful gardens!  Sign up at the Sign Up Center or RSVP to Sandy H.

RIC GALA & DONATIONS NEEDED:  Join ECLC and RIC congregations from around the country at the ReconcilingWorks Gala on Friday, July 31st. This $40 gala includes live music, meal, silent auction, and inspiring presentation.  Can’t make it? Donate a gift card to ECLC’s growing Gift Card Extravaganza silent auction basket!  Email ECLCer Andy S.  to learn more about the gala or to donate a gift card.

BRIDGE CLOSED: The 54th Street bridge over Minnehaha Creek is now closed for reconstruction. The project should be completed in the fall of 2015. For those coming from the west, 56th Street should provide the quickest detour to ECLC.
