At ECLC, we strive to take the “community” in our name seriously, both with our local and world neighbors…AND the community within the congregation. Come, get to know folks new to ECLC or new to you at our annual Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, June 10 from 6:00-8:00pm. This casual outdoor event is also a wonderful invitation to friends and neighbors who might want to check out your church community in a fun way. This all ages event brings the entire community together.

WOMEN IN TRANSITION (WIT) is attending a special show on Sunday, June 7. A study conducted by ECLC Member Sara Mize and her colleague Alex Lantaffi from the University of Minnesota is the basis for the theatrical interpretation “No Expiration Date: Sexuality & Aging.” A heartwarming, funny, illuminating, inspiring and thought-provoking theatrical experience. CHILDREN, YOUTH & FAMILY MINISTRY SUMMIT You are invited to participate in ECLC’s Children, Youth, and Family Ministry Summit on Wednesday, June 17, from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Please join Kelly Rowley, JD Mechelke, Pastor Stephanie, and Gretchen Lieving, Minister of Faith Formation-Youth, as we innovate and create a collaborative vision for CYF ministry at ECLC. We will converse about where we’ve been, where we are, and where we want to be. Come as you are and bring your hopes and dreams. Your voice matters. EDINA ART FAIR This weekend Friday through Sunday, June 5-7 is the Edina Art Fair. As you prepare to come to church, please remember that the intersection of 50th & France Ave is closed to traffic during the festival. The good news is you can join the fair without worrying about parking: simply walk over after worship!
HIGHWAY 100 NORTHBOUND CLOSED THIS WEEKEND Hwy 100 northbound lanes will be closed between I-394 and Hwy 62 beginning at 9 pm., Friday, June 5. The road and ramps will reopen by 5 am., Monday, June 8.

FAMILY FUNDRAISER WITH SOUTHSIDE! Support Southside Family Nurturing Center’s early childhood development programming at the Cedar Cultural Center on Sunday, June 7 from 11:30-1:30. CAMP KNUTSON AIRPORT VOLUNTEERS: Camp Knutson is a summer camp designed for children living with severe disorders of the skin. Each year, ECLC volunteers greet the campers as they get off the plane and get them to their camp bus…and then accompany them from the camp bus to ensure they find their way to their plane home. Volunteers are needed for 3 hour shifts during the day on June 21, June 26, July 5, and July 12. Sign up at the Sign Up Center!
INVITATION TO INTERFAITH EXPERIENCE DURING RAMADAN: As our Muslim neighbors prepare for this sacred month, the Minnesota Council of Churches is excited to announce a series of open houses at area mosques. Mosques and Islamic Community Centers once again will be welcoming their non-Muslim neighbors for a traditional Ramadan Iftar meal, the meal that breaks the fast. FOOD PACKING—A GREAT VOLUNTEER ACTIVITY FOR ALL AGES: Each month, ECLC packs dozens of food bags for homebound neighbors at Community Emergency Service (1900 11th Ave S.). Now that school is out, this is also a great activity for kids 5 and up! Join the ECLC from 9:00-10:30 on Thursday, June 18. All volunteers, please email Lauren to RSVP.
DONATE CHILDREN’S BOOKS: Plymouth Christian Youth Center welcomes hundreds of kids to visit their Little Free Library in North Mpls. PCYC refills this popular Little Library each week and ECLC is helping fill the library! Please bring children’s books (no adult books please) to the blue bin at the Sign Up Center through June 28 and we’ll deliver them to PCYC!
BIG 66 WEST CELEBRATION & FUNDRAISER: Come celebrate 66 West’s successes of 2015 and receive an update on our progress at this pasta dinner open house on Wednesday, June 17 from 5-7pm. Hosted by Richfield United Methodist (5835 Lyndale Ave S.), this event includes donated pasta from Fat Lorenzo’s, dessert from Dairy Queen, and live music, all for the suggested donation of $7! ENJOY OUTDOOR MUSIC WITH ECLC: This summer, ECLC will gather for activities together throughout the Twin Cities. Enjoy a special evening out at the Lake Harriet Bandshell on Sunday, June 21 for the 5:30pm free Minnesota Philharmonic concert. An LGBT orchestra, this local group is the wonderful background for an evening of music together! Email Lauren to sign up—or just show up!
CUBAN MUSICIANS NEED ONE NIGHT HOMESTAY: Our ministry partners at St. Paul’s are hosting the Cuban choral group, Coro Entrevoces, when they perform with the MN Orchestra in July. Do you have a guest bedroom? Homestay families are needed for one night on Friday, July 3rd. Host would pick up their guest (or guests—individuals, couples, and families are traveling) in the evening and drop them off at St. Paul’s on the morning of the 4th. What a unique opportunity to host a Cuban musician on the 4th of July! Spanish is not required. To participate, email Lauren.
