CAMP KNUTSON AIRPORT VOLUNTEERS: Assist children living with severe disorders of the skin as they navigate MSP airport on their way to/from Camp Knutson for a week of fun and friends! We have special need for more volunteers on June 18 and 23. Volunteers are needed for three-hour shifts between 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 18; Friday, June 23; and Sunday, July 2. OBSERVE RAMADAN AT AN IFTAR DINNER: Join ECLCers on Thursday, June 15th at 7pm at Lutheran Social Service’s Center for Changing Lives in Mpls to break the fast together during the season of Ramadan. Representative Ilhan Omar will be the keynote speaker and you’ll learn about LSS’ refugee resettlement program, followed by a special breaking the fast meal. Tickets are $25 by registering here and indicate that you’d like to sit with other ECLC members for the meal.
A GOOD TIME FOR THE TRUTH AT CENTRAL LIBRARY On June 12th from 7 – 8.30, Minneapolis Central Library will host threewriters featured in A Good Time for The Truth, IBé, Bao Phi and Rodrigo Sanchez-Chavarria will be discussing their essays and their experiences living in Minnesota as people of color. Free and open to the public! Q&A will follow the reading, hosted by the editor Sun Yung Shin.
