Ministry Site Profile Preview
On Sunday, June 11, at 11 am. join transition consultant Jim Pence and members of the Transition and Call committees for a preview of ECLC’s Ministry Site Profile (MSP). The MSP will share the story of our congregation with candidates who are interested in considering a call to be in ministry with us. This document describes our ministry, mission, outreach, passions, and vision.

ST. OLAF GENERAL COUNSEL TO VISIT ECLC   On Monday, June 5th, at 7:00 p.m. at ECLC, join St. Olaf alumni, parents and friends for a conversation with St. Olaf General Counsel, Carl Crosby Lehmann, who will share his perspective regarding the racially charged events on campus during the past school year and to learn more about his expectations for the racial justice task force process at St. Olaf.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL: HELP NEEDED!  Please visit the Sign Up Center on Sunday to volunteer for various tasks during the Ice Cream Social and Neighborhood Open House on June 14th. From serving ice cream to welcoming our neighbors, your hospitality and help is needed!

PACK MEALS WITH CES!  Ages 5 through adult are invited to pack culturally appropriate groceries for homebound neighbors from 9-10:30 on Thursday, June 15th at Community Emergency Service’s food shelf: 1900 11th Ave S., Mpls.  Email Dick M to sign up.

EDINA ART FAIR  This weekend Friday through Sunday, June 2-4 is the Edina Art Fair. As you prepare to come to church, please remember that the intersection of 50th & France Ave is closed to traffic during the festival. The good news is you can join the fair without worrying about parking: simply walk over after worship!  

 

NORTH MPLS CELEBRATION OF UNITY TO END GUN VIOLENCE--"WEAR ORANGE DAY", SATURDAY, JUNE 3
Join ECLC members and our brothers and sisters on the north side in North Commons Park (1801 N James Ave, Mpls) as we commemorate National Gun Violence Prevention Day and celebrate the vibrant diversity and unity of North Minneapolis. 9:00am – Interfaith Service to End Gun Violence; 10:00am – Music, food, and family fun including activities for kids; 11:00am – Rally to Prevent Gun Violence, with community leaders and concerned citizens.

 

A GOOD TIME FOR THE TRUTH AT CENTRAL LIBRARY  On June 12th from 7 – 8.30, Minneapolis Central Library will host threewriters featured in A Good Time for The Truth, IBé, Bao Phi and Rodrigo Sanchez-Chavarria will be discussing their essays and their experiences living in Minnesota as people of color. Free and open to the public! Q&A will follow the reading, hosted by the editor Sun Yung Shin.
