VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED! Preparations are underway at Camp Knutson for a summer of camping for children living with special needs. Camp Knutson is a program of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, and ECLC members have served as airport escort volunteers for the camp’s sessions for kids living with severe diseases of the skin. Volunteers assist campers as they pass through the MSP airport between their gate and the camp bus. Volunteer for a three-hour shift between 9-3pm on Friday, June 21 and especially Friday, July 5. FILM “EMANUEL” SCREENING: On June 17, 2015, a white supremacist walked into Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina and murdered nine African Americans. Marking the fourth anniversary "Emanuel" the film will be shown at theaters across the country. The movie will feature intimate conversations with survivors and family members. It will be shown at Rosedale and Southdale cinemas on Monday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 19. Following the Rosedale 7:00 p.m. showing, if you wish to participate in group reflection, St. Michael's in Roseville is hosting an opportunity open to the public.
