A RENEWED LOCK-IN TRADITION!

It was a whacky somewhat sleepless night of magic tricks, goose chase missions, food donations, empty bowls, flashlight devotions, human hungry hippos, prizes, random fun, and plenty of food! Last Friday, 22 ECLC confirmation youth and their friends, with the generous help of 23 adults who rotated throughout the night from 9 pm to 7 am, renewed the tradition of an overnight lock-in retreat at ECLC. In the spring of 2014 ECLC 6th-8th graders asked to do a lock-in... One year later all of us worked together to make it happen. And it’s not over yet!

Lock-in participants brought food shelf items for VEAP, and created clay bowls to be sold at our “Empty Bowls Full Hearts” event, May 17th, after 11:00 am worship. Please save the date! This event, to be planned and organized by confirmation youth, will raise money for a local, yet-to-be-determined hunger organization. Youth will serve soup & bread to the congregation, and host a silent auction with their glazed and fired bowls. Many pictures from the lock-in are being posted on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/eclckids, and also on the eclc.org website. See what the night was all about. Then reach out to ECLC youth, by asking them their favorite part of this year’s lock-in!
