“Try and create the world you want to live in. Minister to the world in a way that can change it. Minister radically, in a real, active, practical, get-your-hands-dirty way.” –Chimamanda Adichie in her 2015 Wellesley College Commencement Speech
ECLC is a known witness to God’s YES for the world. But what does that mean? And how does that happen? As we look forward to fall and breaking ground on the new building, I’m reminded that more important than the space we share are the lives of the people we serve. Faith is a gift from God, but we form that faith in the very real lives of the congregation. We are building the church together, and children, youth & families are vital pieces of the building design.
Please join us in the sanctuary on Renewal Sunday, Sept. 13, beginning at 9:45 am, as we launch the new Sunday School year with the theme: Kids Youth & Families as Change Agents in the World! Parents, teachers, volunteers in Children Youth & Family (CYF) ministries, and kids of all ages should plan to attend. Pick up your own hard hat and tools for building faith on your way in. Add real LEGO pieces to our “Building the Church Together” wall as you leave.
Even if you haven’t participated in CYF before, if you’re volunteering in other areas, or if it’s been a while since you’ve been a part of walking alongside our young people, all are welcome!
