Did you know that ECLC parents and their little ones deliver bags of food to students at Edina’s Highlands Elementary each Friday? These food bags, carefully placed in the students’ lockers by our kids, provide necessary meals for students who would otherwise be hungry over the weekend. As one volunteer mom wrote, “I really enjoy doing this special service with (4 year old) Sawyer and the opportunity it gives us to start talking about privilege.” Read the rest of a reflection from one of our volunteer moms here!
On Thursday, April 28th from 6:00-8:00pm, we ALL have an opportunity to combat hunger in our community. We will gather at The Sheridan Story, the organizer of these weekend food bags, to pack thousands of bags for kids from across the metro area. Ages 8 through adult are invited and encouraged to come together to see where our weekly food bags come from…and to ensure that children will finish the school year with enough meals!
