NOVEMBER 29 SUNDAY FORUM - "WAKING UP WHITE"  Plan on attending this Sunday Forum to continue our congregations study of Racial Justice..  We will be watching a Ted Talk given by Debby Irving the author of "Waking Up White".  The Ted talk will be followed by thought provoking discussion!  This is being hosted by the ECLC Racial Justice Education Committee.

RACIAL JUSTICE ADVOCACY   On Tuesday, December 1, 6-7:30 pm, the Racial Justice 'Advocacy, Education, and Show Up' teams will unite to create a more focused approach in our Racial Justice work. We will meet on the lower level in Room 100.

ADVENT ALTERNATIVE GIVING: CHINOOK BOOKS This Sunday, ECLC’s Youth Group will sell Chinook Books, coupon books and apps for local businesses. All proceeds support the youth group’s summer Civil Rights Trip. Look for them following each worship service!  If you will be out of town for Thanksgiving, email Donna Beatty to reserve a book(s) or app(s). (Note, due to space constraints, there will not be a traditional Fair Trade Sale during Advent. Instead, one mission partner will offer alternative giving items each Sunday, so don’t miss out!)

WELCOMING DISCUSSION AND TRAINING:  As we grow as a congregation, we look for new ways to strengthen our Culture of Welcoming. In a community where not every member can know each other’s names, this takes intentionality and practice. The Welcoming Committee invites you to a training and discussion from 6-7pm on Wednesday, December 2 as we share ideas and tips over dinner provided by ECLC.   RSVP to Lauren at lmorsewendt@eclc.org

SORT GIFTS FOR PCYC’S CHRISTMAS STORE:  On Tuesday, December 8, join ECLC from 9am-Noon at PCYC (2210 Oliver Ave N.) to sort thousands of gifts for 1,500 children and their families this Christmas, followed by an optional lunch at a newNorth Minneapolis gem, Breaking Bread.  RSVP to Lauren at lmorsewendt@eclc.org

WIT: WOMEN IN TRANSITION...all women are welcome! Our traditional holiday potluck will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 7-9 pm. We will again collect gifts for the free store at Southside Family Nurturing Center. Items are needed for all ages so that clients can shop for family members.  We will have a discussion about books: What are you reading now? Who are your favorite authors? Do you have a book you are ready to pass on?
