REFUGEE MENTOR CONVERSATION:  Are you mentoring a refugee? Are you interested in building a relationship with a refugee family? Come to a Refugee Mentorship conversation over dinner on Monday, November 21st from 6-7pm. Current mentors will trade ideas and share joys and challenges; potential mentors can ask questions on getting involved!  Contact ECLC's LSS Ambassador, Larry Edlund.

HIGH SCHOOL: FALL RETREAT   This weekend 10 students from ECLC are on retreat in Hudson, WI. Together they’re discerning “Why do we worship?” “How do we encounter God in the sacraments” and “How does the way we worship support white culture and white supremacy?” This winter, students are helping lead Advent Vespers (Nov 30, Dec 7,14) and will be preparing during the retreat as well. Please keep them in your prayers.

MULTI-FAITH POST ELECTION GATHERING FOR HOPE: After an often stressful campaign season, many seek healing and have a need to come together in song, reflection, quiet meditation, & some food to shape a new narrative for ourselves and our community.  You are invited to this worship experience at 7pm on Thursday, November 10th hosted by Shir Tikvah Congregation at 1360 W. Minnehaha Parkway in Mpls.

DAKOTA COMMEMORATIVE MARCH DAY OF REMEMBRANCE On Sunday, November 13, 11 a.m. you are invited to join a walk from St. Peter’s Church (1405 Sibley Memorial Hwy, St. Paul), across the Mendota Bridge, down to the Fort Snelling Concentration Camp Site for a ceremony remembering Dakota ancestors who were forcibly removed to concentration camps at Mankato and Fort Snelling in November 1862. LOAVES & FISHES: Prepare (1:30-3:00) or serve (5:00-7:00) a meal with neighbors at Holy Rosary Church at 2448 18th Ave S. in Minneapolis on Tuesday, November 15th. Ages 14+ welcome! Email Kathy to sign up!

Drop off cake mix, frosting, birthday plates and napkins, candles, and $2-$4 toys for kids celebrating their birthday with VEAP Food shelf this month! Donations welcome at the Sign Up Center through Sunday, November 20th then we will pack birthday bags during the Advent Festival on November 27th.

HOLDEN VILLAGE PILGRIMAGE  A group is forming to spend a week at Holden Village (a remote Lutheran retreat center in north central Washington State) in early August 2017!  A $100 deposit per household is due by December 15 to secure your spot. MARTIN LUTHER AND THE REFORMATION Would you like to see the story of Martin Luther and the Reformation brought to life through astonishing artworks and historical objects, traveling outside Germany for the first time ever? Sign-up at the sign-up center to join a group of 15 from ECLC on a guided tour at the Minneapolis Institute of Art(MIA), November 18 from 6-7 pm. Cost is $12 per person. Spots are limited. “INVISIBLE” YOUTH HOMELESSNESS PLAY AT ECLC: On Friday, November 11, ECLC will host the Chain Reaction Theatre Project's production of Invisible. Based on true stories, this theater production is an inspirational and thought-provoking performance about five suburban youth battling homelessness. Following the performance, listen to a panel discussion about youth homelessness. Tickets are a suggested donation of $15 online at or at the door.

ECLC BEER & BEVERAGE DABBLER! Save the date for a Stewardship Beer and Beverage Tasting on Friday, November 18 from 7-10pm!  Enjoy an evening forging friendships with ECLCers...while tasting a variety of folks' favorite beers and non-alcoholic beverages. This casual evening will include conversation about caring for our whole selves, including relationships, as we delve into W[Holy] living.  Hosted by Anne & Chris Holt in their Edina home with free childcare available.
