PASTOR JEFF will be traveling to Rome with a delegation of Lutherans and Catholics from Friday, October 26 to Friday, November 2. The project, “Together in Hope” rounds out a year of events to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Bishop Anne Svennungsen is one of the religious leaders on this trip. Next Sunday we celebrate Reformation Sunday, remembering the movement that gave birth to the Lutheran church in the 16th cent. when Martin Luther made public his concerns about the church with the posting of 95 Theses on the church doors in Wittenberg, Germany.

ALL SAINTS DAY WORSHIP SERVICE ON NOVEMBER 1st Join us at 6:30, on Thursday, November 1st as we remember those we have loved and lost, and rejoice together over the gift of God's resurrection promises. We'll sing, pray and listen to God's word, and have a special opportunity for you to name the loved ones whose death has been a source of grief for you. A simple meal will be offered at 6pm.

BOOK DISCUSSION “EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON: AND OTHER LIES I'VE LOVED” You are invited to a book discussion of Everything Happens for a Reason: And Other Lies I've Loved on Thursday, November 1 at 7:30 pm at ECLC. This memoir, written by religion professor Kate Bowler, explores her life, faith, and perspective after she receives a cancer diagnosis.

MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVERS ARE NEEDED for Friday, November 2nd. This vital ministry is a great way to bring community to the home-bound and elderly of Edina, Richfield, and SW Minneapolis. Meet at United Methodist Church of Peace (6345 Xerxes Ave) at 11am. All instructions and training are provided, and in total it takes 1-1.5 hrs. Kids of any age are welcome to join! HEALING PRAYER SERVICE Pastor Jeff Sartain accompanied by Melissa Bergstrom will hold a simple service for healing prayer on November 14 from 6:30-7:00 pm in the sanctuary. Join together for a time of quiet prayer, singing, anointing and prayers for our lives, our church and our world.

ECLC'S BEFRIENDER MINISTRY is available to everyone in the congregation. BeFrienders are trained listeners who are matched with a congregational member through one of the pastors for confidential visits.
