SING WITH THE CHOIR IN OCTOBER The ECLC Adult choir will be taking a 3-week break from our fall rehearsals to make room for the grief, exhaustion, conversations, photo directories and other 'ordinary time' events in this extraordinary time in our congregation. We will resume on Wednesday, October 10th from 7-8 p.m. for 3 rehearsals (10/10, 10/17, 10/24) to prepare for Reformation Sunday on 10/28. Please consider joining in with us for this brief window of commitment and lift your voices and sing till earth and heaven ring.
CAREGIVER CONVERSATIONS: Friends and family caring for a loved one are warmly invited to Caregiver Conversations, which meets the third Thursday of the month – September 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the youth room at ECLC.
GOOD NEWS! We are pleased that ECLC member Jonathan Rundman has begun seminary studies at Luther Seminary. We are even more pleased that he has been placed with ECLC and with Pastor Jeff for his Christian Public Leader contextual learning. He will work with confirmation and youth initially, and will expand to gain further pastoral experience for up to 5 hours per week. Welcome Seminarian Jonathan to ECLC in his new role among us!
POWER, PAIN, POLITICS, & THE POLL: Hennepin County residents concerned about the inhumanity of mass incarceration and deportation are invited to join us at the ISAIAH Candidate Forum happening next Sunday, September 23rd from 2-4:45pm at New Creation Church (1922 N. 25th Ave, MplS). This will be a powerful opportunity to hear candidates for the county office elections who will likely get little media airtime because the focus will be very much on the federal level. Two major focuses will be lifting up justice and community in the criminal justice system and keeping all of our families safe and together by getting ICE out of Hennepin County. For a list of invited candidates and to register, check out www.tinyurl.com/powerpain.
