CARING FOR CREATION (C4C) invites you to enjoy a Saturday with the Monarchs at the Minneapolis Monarch Festival on September 12 from 10am-4pm at Lake Nokomis. The festival offers everything from food and music, to monarch education and native plant sales, all while highlighting the Minnesota – Mexico connection and celebrating the Monarch butterfly amazing 2,300 mile migration. CELEBRATE A FIESTA WITH ST PAUL'S:  Join St. Paul's for a special evening out for ALL ages including Mexican food, music, and a raffle at their annual FIESTA on Saturday, September 12 anytime between 5-9pm at 2742 15th Ave S., Mpls.  Proceeds from food, games, & raffle benefit St. Paul's ministries.  Email Lauren to sign up or just show up.

TOUR HOUSING FOR HOMELESS YOUTH:  Experience Nicollet Square, the model for housing for youth and young adults at 66 West.  Take a tour from Noon-1pm or from 5-6pm on Thursday, Sept 17th with other ECLCers. You will be inspired! Email Lauren to RSVP.

SHORT STORY GROUP The ECLC Short Story group will meet at the home of Vicky N. on Friday, September 25 at 10am.  We’ll be discussing the selection “Lust” by Susan Minot from the book “We Are the Stories We Tell.” All are welcome to join us. RSVP to Nancy.

SUPPORT DETAINED IMMIGRANTS IN MINNESOTA JAILS: Concerned about U.S. detention practices but don’t know what to do?  Volunteer visitors are needed to simply show immigrants detained in MN jails that they are remembered through a trained visitor program.  A two part training with Conversations with Friends for monthly visitors will occur Monday, September 14 and Monday, September 21 from 6:45-8:45 at Springhouse Ministry Center, 610 W. 28th Street, Mpls. No second language is needed; all are invited to consider the opportunity. The training is NOT a commitment. Email Lauren to sign up.
